  • Daily meals will be provided each day of the retreat. Meals will be largely prepared and curated by Dear Black Women and award winning chef Ederique Goudia (“Chef E”).

  • We will be at Congo Bongo, an eco-village immersed in the Caribbean jungle. A world designed for you to slow down and return to yourself — in community.

  • A shuttle will be provided between:

    • Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) → Congo Bongo (Oct 10, 2026)

    • Congo Bongo → SJO (Oct 15, 2026)

    Departure times will be shared with attendees.

    If you miss the scheduled shuttle, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation.

  • This retreat is for Black adult women (cis, trans, non-binary) from anywhere in the world.

    If you’re seeking rest, connection, and space to return to yourself in community, you’re in the right place.

    Please note: The retreat will be held in English.

  • Your retreat experience is designed to be as seamless as possible. The following are not included in your retreat ticket:

    • Flight to and from the retreat

    • Personal trip insurance

    • Additional meals outside of retreat itinerary

    • Personal shopping

    • Transportation to and from airport outside of established times

    • Lodging in any other place in Costa Rica

  • Yes. You can select a payment plan at checkout using Klarna or Afterpay.

    This allows you to spread your investment over time in a way that works for you.

  • Yes, we strongly recommend it.

    Travel insurance helps protect your investment in case of unexpected changes.

    Please note: Retreat purchases are non-refundable, so we encourage taking this extra step for peace of mind.

  • All retreat purchases are non-refundable.

    Because of the nature of retreat planning and limited capacity, we are not able to offer refunds for cancellations.

  • We’re not able to accommodate arrivals before October 10, as we’ll be preparing the space for your experience.

    You are welcome to arrive starting at 2pm on October 10.

  • Yes, absolutely.

    After you purchase your ticket and receive confirmation from us please contact us via email and let us know you are interested in extending your stay. From there, we will connect you to the owners of Congo Bongo.

  • This retreat is designed for adults only.

    While we love the little ones — and may offer family retreats in the future — this experience is intentionally created for adult participants.
