What is a Dear Black Women Affirmation Circle? 7/21, 2PM - 6PM

DBW Affirmation Circles are safe spaces dedicated to Black women, from all backgrounds, speaking life to themselves in community with other Black women. We center affirmations written by Black women to themselves. From these affirmations come connections, resources, healing, release and support. Come through to our 19th Circle at 2pm on 7/21 in Detroit.

What is Kickback & Record? 7/21, 6:30PM - 9PM

Inspired to bring life to your words affirmation to yourself and share them with the world? There will be an opportunity to record your affirmation letters for potential use on DBW’s website, podcast, etc. All recorders will be required to sign a release giving DBW permission to use the recording. Whether you can make it to DBW 19 or not, come through to DBW’s Kickback + Record following the DBW Circle 19. We’ll be vibing! Bring a game, art supplies, and/or something tasty to share! All Black women are welcome, so bring your homegirl.

DBW Time: Honoring the Circle *
I will honor the Circle by arriving on time at 2pm. If I am running late, I will arrive no later than 30 minutes of the Circle start. I understand there is no admission more than 30 minutes after Circle start.

MUST READ: 4 Things

    1. BEFORE the Circle, write an affirmation letter to yourself and submit by 11am the day of (7/21). Tips to write your letter: HERE.

    2. DBW Time: Arrive on time. "DBW TIME" is on time with a maximum of a 30 minute grace period. No exceptions. Please note this.

    3. What to Bring: Bring your precious self, an open heart, a homegirl (if you'd like) and a snack/beverage or dish to share (IF you can)!

    4. Dear Black Women Affirmation Circles are a safe space for Black women from all walks of life. Be her religious, spiritual, agnostic, atheist, cis, trans, LGBTQIA, not working or working, in or not in school, penny pinching or balling, single or partnered, differently able, able bodied, etc!

    DBW is something every black women needs in her life. It was a safe place full of healing. A place to full of acceptance and love, laughter and life. I enjoyed every minute of it.
