“Stop seeing the daughter of two addicts because you are not their decisions.”

Written by A Dear Black Woman

I am worthy of all my success. I am not the bad financial decisions I’ve made trying to help my family... I am so much more.

You are enough!

There are days you wake up and it takes all the strength to keep that smile and not cry in the closet. You are not a faker, you belong in every room you enter and every conversation you interrupt.

When you look in the mirror you see a beautiful, smart, funny, charismatic, insightful, loving woman. Stop seeing the daughter of two addicts because you are not their decisions. You have worked so hard to be the confident woman you see although you sometimes only see the parentified child you never asked to be.

I am worthy of all my success. I am not the bad financial decisions I’ve made trying to help my family... I am so much more.

You will never be silenced, your voice deserves to be heard. One day you will have no more tears to cry for the shit that never was and that will never be. One day you will be allowed to be vulnerable when you need to be and no longer considered “emotional” by those that have no emotional intelligence. I am proud of the woman you are becoming and I look forward to what the future brings.

A closed mouth don’t get fed, so keep pushing!
