"...I want to imagine a world for you where you can do more than just survive."

When I look at you, I see so much strength, so much resilience. And those are great things to be. But those are things that I think you are tired of hearing. I don’t want to compliment your ability to survive because I want to imagine a world for you where you can do more than just survive. Instead, I want to tell you that you’re beautiful. You light up a room before you even speak, before you even interact; your eyes shine bright just like your smile. I know sometimes you walk into a space and it feels like there’s no place for you there. But, beautiful, rest assured, you belong wherever you are just by being there. Your body is worthy of space, of care, of acknowledgement. Take up as much as you want and don’t apologize for it.

I don’t want to compliment your ability to survive because I want to imagine a world for you where you can do more than just survive. Instead, I want to tell you that you’re beautiful.

I know sometimes you feel invisible. Like the world doesn’t want you. But, here’s the things, love. I want you. I want you here, want you alive, want you laughing, caring, and reading. I want you eating, shopping, running, driving. I want you watching netflix and planning trips that you may or may not go on. I want you in public. I want you in private. You mean the world to me, and there are so many people who love seeing you, love knowing you, love having you in their lives. Remember that.

The thing is this: I love you. I love you a thousand times. You are beauty. You are intelligence. You are wisdom. You are creativity. You are strength. You are softness. You are inspiration. You are worthy. You are needed. You are wanted. These are the things that I know to be true.

Be covered in peace, my love.
