"If you don't take away anything from this letter, remember your true worth & value."

Precious gem,

You knew beforehand that you would be faced with the pressures and the heat of the world, but nothing could have prepared you for how hard life really is. It's funny how life will humble you even if you thought that your horse wasn't all that high. And yet here you are now, exposed to the rubble and facing the grit of life. And so, therein lies the silver lining, you're still here. You're still here amidst all of the: stress, disappointment, confusion and yes, mistakes in your life. You're still here amidst all of the: hair fall, weight change, breakups, and tears. Still plagued with the constant inner questioning of: morality, justice, capitalism, purpose, love and femininity as a black woman.

...If you don’t take away anything from this letter, remember your true worth and value, you are and will always be a precious gem, so shine.
— Diamond

Your black is cracking, but it is not all the way cracked. Grab some shea butter and practice some self love! I'm so proud of you because you survived, and you're surviving! Give yourself credit for all of your accomplishments, and most of all, stop comparing yourself to others. Take a break from dwelling in the past, worrying about the future, and resonate in the present. Forgive others but mostly forgive yourself! Count the past for what is really is, growing pains. You've given so much in life and still have so much more to offer. You deserve happiness, you deserve love, you deserve freedom, and you deserve wholeness of; mind, body, and soul. But if you don't take away anything from this letter, remember your true worth and value, you are and will always be a precious gem, so shine.
