This is the final part of Dear Black Women's sunset. In Part 1, you read some of my story. In Part 2, you were introduced to Your Care Package. (I hope you enjoy it!)
Now, in Part 3...

Dear Black Woman Brandi. A baddie!
The. Brandi. Keeler.
Many of you know Brandi as an Affirmation Circle Leader, creating a safe and affirming experience for many. And she was that! But, behind the scenes, Brandi was even more.
DBW's Lead Circle Facilitator. Thought partner. Friend. Chocolate Covered Alien.
Brandi would spend hour (I said HOURS) with me perfecting the Circle experience. We would discuss every detail of every Circle, identifying best practices. Plus, sometimes she would help me strategize the future of Dear Black Women. In fact, hours before Brandi gave birth to her precious bundle of joy (at home with her hubby!), guess what Brandi was doing? Brainstorming Dear Black Women with me.
Brandi, I speak your name and give you my gratitude for all the love you have poured into Dear Black Women and me. You have touched so many people's lives. And without you, so much of this walk may have been impossible. Thank you, friend.

Had a great experience with Brandi, too?

Imagine receiving 1000's of pieces of affirmation content from Black women across the country (sometimes world). Great, right? Right!...
Then imagine needing to review, process and organize all that content to share on Dear Black Women's social media, texts, website and events. Lawd!
Throwback footage of me realizing I have 1000's of affirmations to sort.
Enter: Dear Black Woman Christiana.
Christiana was DBWs first ever content manager who joined me in wrangling 1,000's of pieces of data to bring you the affirmations you love. Add to that Dear Black Woman Julie who brought her creativity and design expertise to many of DBW's promotional materials (just one example).
Then add them to a small crew of contributors including Dear Black Women Brandi, Elena, Elisabeth and Ify. Together, they would occasionally crowd into my studio apartment -- sitting on my floor, couch or bed -- and give me feedback on my business plans and strategies for Dear Black Women late into the night.
Brandi, Christiana, Elena, Elisabeth, Julie & Ify, thank you. I speak your names and thank you for your contributions. Your encouragement and insights made the road more possible to travel.

Almost every Dear Black Women Circle had a host.
Imagine loving the Dear Black Women Movement so much that you open your home, your apartment, even your office to, effectively, a group of strangers. That is what our Circles Hosts did, time after time, city after city. Some of them MULTIPLE times.
Hosts, thank you for your generosity. You provided safe space to Black women across the country. I speak your names with gratitude for this gift -
Audrey, Betty, Brandi, Chase, Dani B., Daniel, Elena, Elisabeth, Erin, Gaia, Ify, Jasmine, Judith, Julie, Lauren, Ramona, Shanice, Stacyé J, Sun, Tiara & Taylor!

Had a great experience at a DBW Circle or other event?

Too Many Folx to Name.
From Black women business owners who partnered with Dear Black Women, to professors, mentors and friends who offered their intellectual and material support -
I offer you my gratitude for seeing me and affirming Dear Black Women! Without you, it is hard to believe I would have been able to keep food on the table and work on Dear Black Women! Thank you.
Time to say goodbye. Before I go, thank you for being a part of this Dear Black Women journey. Please share Your DBW story with me. (No story is too big or small.) And enjoy Your Care Package.
Should Dear Black Women sunrise, I will meet you here. Either way, I remain in affirmation of the best in and for you, your family, and Black women everywhere.
Always,
Flo, Dear Black Women Founder
